Alec Baldwin returned on air

Alec Baldwin has returned to the US sketch show Saturday Night Live (SNL) for the first time after the case against him for a fatal shooting on the set of the film 'Rust' was dropped.

Baldwin said his career may have ended after a prop gun he was holding during rehearsals fired a live round, killing Haleen Hutchins in 2021, leading to his manslaughter charge, which he denied.

This week, he returned to SNL, a show he has hosted a record 17 times.

He opened this week's episode parodying Fox News host Bret Baier in his recent interview with Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris.

Along with Maya Rudolph as Harris, the pair poked fun at the tense interview.

Baldwin's Bayer said she couldn't listen to the interviewee's answers "because I'm talking," which was a joke about how the pair interrupted each other.

After they shook hands, Harris /played by Rudolph/, laughed, "Pleasure is neither of us."

In 2017, Baldwin won an Emmy Award for his portrayal of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on SNL. I BGNES
