Al Pacino: I was on the verge of death because of Covid-19

The 84-year-old actor recalled how he was left "sitting in my house" and that he was "gone" after falling unconscious while battling the virus.

"I had no pulse. Within minutes they came - the ambulance outside my house. There were about six paramedics in this living room and two doctors who were wearing suits that looked like they were from outer space or something," Pacino told The New York Times.

The "Godfather" star explained how he lost consciousness after he started feeling "unusually bad" since contracting Covid-19 at an unspecified point. He stated that he had "never thought" about death before.

"I didn't see the white light or anything like that. There's nothing there. I never thought about it in my life. But you know actors: it sounds good to say I died once," the Hollywood star said.

Despite having faced death, the 'Scarface' actor claims his children - Julie, 34, twins Anton and Olivia, 23, and one-year-old Roman from his various relationships - are a "comfort". Now that he's older, he no longer finds discussing death "painful."

"It's just the way it is. I didn't ask for it. It just comes, like a lot of other things just come," he pointed out.

Pacino has had an extensive acting career, but admitted that the profession gave him more joy when he was younger.

"Usually when I'm doing movies, I'm not very happy. They can be tedious, but you can go in your camper and do whatever you want," he noted.

Pacino also revealed that he watches YouTube and TikTok videos to entertain himself when he's on set.

"There's so much stuff on YouTube. I even like TikTok," the actor explained. | BGNES
