Air France and its subsidiary Transavia have extended the suspension of flights to Beirut until August 14 due to ongoing tensions in the region, AFP reported.
The flights were suspended on July 29 due to "the security situation in Lebanon" and their resumption "will depend on the further assessment of the local situation", Air France said.
The airline said, "The safety of its customers and crew is a top priority".
Customers with flight reservations before August 18 can cancel or change their trips without paying a fee.
German airline Lufthansa has announced that it is extending the suspension of its flights to Tel Aviv, Tehran, Beirut, Amman and Erbil until August 21. Lufthansa will avoid using Iranian and Iraqi airspace.
Many international companies have suspended service at Beirut airport due to fears of a military escalation between Israel and Hezbollah. This happened after an Israeli strike killed a high-ranking commander of the Lebanese Shiite movement.
However, Air France said it would continue to operate flights to Tel Aviv, although some international carriers, such as Italy's ITA, suspended flights until at least August 15. | BGNES
