Tesla has released an update to its full self-driving autopilot, adding support for neural networks, reports Electrek.
The company explains that the advanced driver assistance system will now be controlled by neural networks, rather than thanks to code that was previously written by programmers. The corporation noted that the artificial intelligence (AI) was trained based on millions of videos, thus replacing "more than 300,000 lines of explicit C++ code."
Tesla CEO Elon Musk noted that the autopilot is now controlled by "comprehensive neural networks." The company has currently released FSD Beta v12, but Musk has already assured users that the update will appear as a full-fledged update to the brand's cars.
"V12 and end-to-end neural networks are the latest big step in Tesla's unmanned driving development," the Electrek authors commented on the news. They say artificial intelligence is Tesla's "last hope" for full-fledged driverless driving. /BGNES
