Aerosmith have announced their retirement from touring after canceling their 'Peace Out' farewell tour

The tour started last year, but a larynx injury to frontman Steven Taylor forced the band to play only 3 shows and reschedule the others.

“It was 1970 when a spark of inspiration became Aerosmith. Thanks to you, our Blue Army, that spark has ignited and burned for more than five decades. Some of you have been with us since the beginning and all of you are the reason we made rock and roll history. It has been the honour of our lives to have our music become a part of your life. In every club, on every massive tour, and in grand and private moments, you gave us a place on the soundtrack of your life. We've always wanted to give you unforgettable performances," the group wrote on Instagram.

“As you know, Stephen's voice is an instrument like no other. He spent months working tirelessly to get his voice back to its pre-injury level. We saw him suffer even though he had the best medical team by his side. Unfortunately, it is now clear that a full recovery from his vocal injury is not possible. As much as it pains us, we have made the difficult but necessary decision - as a band of brothers - to retire from touring. We are extremely grateful to everyone excited to hit the road with us one last time. We are grateful to our expert team, our amazing team and the thousands of talented people who make our historic music tours possible. A final thank you to you, the best fans on planet Earth. Play our music loud, now and always. Dream on. You made our dreams come true," the post also says. | BGNES
