Actress Catherine Deneuve awarded in Italy for lifetime achievement in cinema

French actress Catherine Deneuve has added a new award to her collection of accolades.

On July 25, Denève participated in the 16th Marateale Film Festival, held in the southern Italian coastal town of Maratea.

With her pink Chanel bag under her arm, Catherine Deneuve took to the stage to receive the award for her prolific career. The 80-year-old Frenchwoman also attended the screening of one of her latest films, "Bernadette", directed by Lea Domenache, in which she plays Bernadette Chirac. The production was released in France last October.

Earlier, Catherine Deneuve made her first autographed handprints. After a hiatus during which she was taking care of her health, following an ischemic vascular accident that occurred in 2019 on the set of the film "De son vivant", Catherine Deneuve returned to the set and multiplied her projects on the big screen: she also appeared in the film "Au fil des saisons" in early 2024.

She also made a dazzling return to the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival last May, alongside her daughter Chiara Mastroianni, to present Christophe Honoré's "Marcello mio". Other film projects starring Catherine Deneuve have also been announced for the coming months, including the fantasy film "Spirit World" directed by Eric Qu and the comedy drama "Dada" directed by Gustave Kerverne and Benoit Delepin. | BGNES
