Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said this at a meeting of the Arab League in Bahrain.
"The military operation carried out unilaterally by Hamas on October 7 provided Israel with more occasions and justifications to attack Gaza."
The Gaza war erupted after an unprecedented Hamas attack on southern Israel on October 7, which left more than 1,170 people dead, mostly civilians.
According to the Ministry of Health in the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip, at least 35,272 people, mostly civilians, have died in Israel's military response. / BGNES
