A penalty at the end got Chelsea out, Manchester City made no mistake against Everton

Chelsea won at home to Crystal Palace 2:1 in a match of the 19th round of the Premier League.

The meeting at "Stamford Bridge" started in an excellent way for the hosts. Mihajlo Mudric gave Chelsea the lead in the 13th minute, scoring for the second time in the last three games. In the 23rd minute, visiting goalkeeper Dean Henderson made a great save on a shot by Mudrik. In stoppage time of the first half, Crystal Palace equalized. Michael Ollis took advantage of Jordan Ayew's pass and scored to make it 1:1.

In the second half, Romeo Lavia came on for Maatsen to make his Chelsea debut. In the 77th minute, Nicholas Jackson's goal was disallowed for offside. Chelsea still got a regular winning goal. In the 88th minute, Madueke was fouled in the penalty area and the head referee awarded an 11-meter free kick. It was Madueke who took the penalty and brought success to the "blues" with his first goal of the season in the Premier League.

The win left Chelsea in the top 10 of the standings. The Blues have collected 25 points, the same number as 11th Wolverhampton. Wolves beat Brentford 4-1 away from home tonight. The Crystal Palace team has 18 points and is only three above the relegation zone.

Meanwhile, champions Manchester City snapped a poor run by beating Everton 0-1 to 3-1 at Goodison Park. The Caramels took the lead through Jack Harrison, but Phil Foden, Julian Alvarez from the penalty spot and Bernardo Silva gave the Citizens victory.

Apart from the three goals, City hit the post and missed a few more excellent chances.

With the success, Pep Guardiola's men have amassed 37 points in fourth place in the provisional table, while Sean Dyche's side sit in 17th place with 16 points, just one above Luton Town's danger zone. /BGNES
