Cecil, a designer goldendoodle from Pennsylvania became famous in the US for eating an envelope of money his owners had set aside for a handyman.
Clayton and Kerry Lowe collected most of the torn bills after a smelly search of Cecil's feces and vomit - only $450 is still missing.
Cecil's vet told the couple their greedy pet would be fine.
In early December, Clayton Lowe places an envelope containing $4,000 on the kitchen counter in his home in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He and his wife, Kerry, had to pay their contractor in cash to install a fence.
About 30 minutes later, to his surprise, he discovered that his beloved dog was enjoying the most expensive meal of his life, leaving gross strips and scattered pieces of money everywhere.
"All of a sudden, Clayton yelled at me, 'Cecil's eating $4,000!'" Kerry Lowe shared in an interview with the Pittsburgh City Paper. "I thought, 'I can't hear that. I almost had a heart attack.'
Speaking to The Washington Post, Lowe described Cecil as a "stupid dog."
"He's very picky - you can leave a steak on the table and he won't touch it because he's not a glutton in general," Kerry Lowe told the paper. "But apparently the smell of the money attracted him."
As Cecil plopped down on the sofa to take a nap from the expensive meal, the couple immediately called Cecil's vet to find out if he would need medical treatment. Fortunately, because Cecil is a larger dog, they only had to watch him at home.
After that, the couple started an unexpected and difficult puzzle: Assembling the torn banknotes./BGNES
