A drone was fired at Netanyahu's residence in Israel

"An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was fired at the prime minister's residence in Caesarea. The prime minister and his wife were not at the scene and there were no injuries in the incident," Netanyahu's office said.

It was not immediately clear whether the struck building was his residence.

The military announced that 3 drones were fired from Lebanon into northern Israel and intercepted 2 of them.

The missiles were fired from Lebanon into northern Israel. Sirens were heard at regular intervals in the region.

Meanwhile, Lebanese authorities said two people were killed in an Israeli strike in Jounieh, north of Beirut. It was the first shelling of that area since Hezbollah and Israel began exchanging fire last year.

The health ministry said an "Israeli enemy raid" struck a vehicle in Junieh. Lebanese state media said the attack happened on a key highway linking the capital with the north of the country.

Israel is waging war against Hamas ally Hezbollah in Lebanon. The country sent ground troops across the border last month.

On 18 October, the Israeli military announced that it had destroyed the regional command centre of Hezbollah with an air strike.

The group said it fired a volley of rockets at the Israeli city of Haifa and areas north of it.
