A drone struck a fuel depot in western Russia

A fuel depot in western Russia was hit by a drone that started a fire, the regional governor said, one of several Ukrainian attacks that took place overnight.

The drone "crashed in Orlovo. A facility of the fuel and energy complex was attacked. Special services are working on the spot to control the fire. No one was injured," regional governor Andrey Klichkov wrote in the Telegram messaging application.

Local media reported that the attack took place around 3:00 a.m. local time (00:00 GMT).

According to an emergency services official quoted by the Russian state news agency RIA Novosti, a tanker containing petroleum products caught fire.

Ukrainian drones also attacked Russia's Belgorod region, near the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv, causing no injuries, according to the region's governor.

"The Belgorod region was attacked by the Ukrainian armed forces with the help of unmanned aerial vehicles, which released 4 explosive devices. As a result of the explosions, no one was injured, but there was damage to a power line," said Vyacheslav Gladkov in Telegram.

According to Gladkov, seven municipalities were left without electricity as a result of the attack.

In addition, an unmanned aircraft was destroyed over the Tula region, south of Moscow, the regional security ministry reported, citing the official TASS news agency.
