A 4.7 magnitude earthquake shook the city of Sivas in Turkey

Turkey's Disaster and Emergency Management Directorate (AFAD) said two earthquakes occurred in the city of Sivas, first with a magnitude of 4.7 and a few minutes later 4.1.

The depth of the quake was reportedly measured at 10.5 km. The tremor was also felt in surrounding provinces.

After the 4.7 Richter magnitude earthquake, another quake was recorded in Sivas.

 The magnitude of the second earthquake was declared by AFAD as 4.1 and the depth of the earthquake was measured at 22.98 km .

Governor of Sivas Yilmaz Shimshek said there was no destruction or injuries and noted that "our field scans are continuing".

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya wrote on social media that AFAD and all teams from relevant institutions had immediately started field scans. | BGNES
