Last week, the gendarmerie searched Alain Delon's home in Duchy and seized several dozen firearms. Is this a way to avoid another tragedy?
At the end of last week, gendarmerie seized 72 firearms from Alain Delon's property in Duchy during a search of his home in the Loiret region. According to information published in "Le Parisien" on Monday, February 26, and confirmed by the prosecutor's office in Montargis the following day, the firearms in question were small arms and collectors' items.
There were also weapons in categories A (certain firearms and war material) and B (weapons used for sport shooting and those used for professional purposes). While the 88-year-old actor is known to have a shooting range at his property in Duchy, the prosecutor in Montargis, Jean-Cedric Gau, said in a press release that Alain Delon "did not hold a permit allowing him to possess a firearm ".
The search was carried out on Thursday, February 22, following a report by the guardianship judge on February 8, when Alain Delon's legal representative noted the presence of a firearm in Duchy. This led to an investigation into "illegal storage, acquisition and possession of category A, B and C weapons". Above all, the court probably decided to take action and keep these weapons away from their owner to prevent even the slightest risk, given Alain Delon's fragile health and the tension between his three children. "My client is very disturbed to know that Alain Delon is being held without medical attention with weapons nearby," Yassin Bouzrou, Hiromi Rollin's lawyer, told Le Parisien. In an interview with ELLE magazine a few days ago, Anushka Delon said that her brothers Anthony and Alain-Fabien "walk around the house armed", thinking they are "in the Wild West". The older of the brothers immediately hit back, writing on Instagram: "You spent the summer shooting hawthorns with your beloved, former head of security in Duchy, before finally bringing the weapon home to Geneva as a memory of dad. For a guy who hates guns, you looked very brave and capable. As for me, I stopped carrying guns a long time ago. /BGNES
