Spanish rally veteran Carlos Sainz has said he feels ready to try to defend his title at the legendary Dakar Rally, which starts tomorrow.
A year ago, Sainz became the oldest winner of the race and also brought Audi its first title. Now, the father of Formula 1 driver Carlos Sainz Jr. says he is in good physical shape, despite recently becoming a grandfather. "I did everything I could to get in good physical condition and I will give my all to compete well. My expectation is above all to have fun while driving. I expect that we will not have many problems with the car and to fight for the victory. I am happy to be here," said Sainz the day before the start of the Dakar Rally at the presentation of his new Ford Raptor car.
The 2025 Dakar Rally will be held from January 3 to 17 in Saudi Arabia. The prologue will be in Bisha, while the final is planned for Shubait. The drivers will have to cover a total of 5,115 kilometers. | BGNES
