The health ministry in the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip said on Sunday that at least 40,738 people had died in the war between Israel and Palestinian militants, now in its 11th month.
The number includes 47 deaths in the previous 24 hours, according to the ministry. The estimate for the injured is 94,154 people.
Hamas attacked Israel on October 7 last year. The attack killed 1,198 people, mostly civilians. I BGNES
