On Monday, the 2024 Autumn/Winter Tokyo Collection got underway. Known for its oddly adorable aesthetic, Pays des Fees was one of the firms that took part in the event on the first day, which took place at the Shibuya Hikarie commercial building in Tokyo.

The collection included pieces like a wide-collared dress with illustrations of hand patterns on it. Designer Lim Asafuji claims that she was influenced by the poetry of modernist poet Kitazono Katsue, who wrote between 1912 and 1989, during the Taisho and Showa periods. Asafuji claimed, "They [my designs] reflect the adolescent desire to be inorganic."

One of the highlights of Japan Fashion Week Organization's Rakuten Fashion Week Tokyo is the Tokyo Collection, which runs until Saturday. At the event, some 40 Japanese and international brands will be showcasing their latest collections. /BGNES
