Stylist talks about the fashion trends at the Grand National 2024

The Grand National is a chance for Merseryside's top stylists and fashionistas to flex their wardrobes.

Every year thousands descend upon Aintree Racecourse in their best attire with a few earning the illustrious title of 'best dressed'. Fashions come and go but style is forever and it can be beneficial to keep your finger on the pulse for upcoming trends.

Stylist and buyer Justine Mills founded fashion house Cricket, located in the MetQuarter, in 1991 which would go on to become a luxury retailer known across the whole of the UK. The initial Cricket store began when Justine, then aged 18, opened a menswear boutique in Cavern Walks on Mathew Street. For more than 30 years, Cricket has remained a firm favourite in the city thanks to its wide array of luxury fashion retail, maintaining its position through its unique edit and cult following.
Weighing in on what she believes are the top trends at this year's Grand National, Justine told the ECHO: "As the race meeting is one of the first events of the summer calendar in the city it offers ladies the first real opportunity of the year to get dressed up.

"Aintree race day dress code tends to fall into two camps: feminine dresses or tailoring depending on the client's style. Muted pastels, in particular pale blue and yellow, are recurring themes through collections this season and Self-Portrait and Zimmermann are always go-tos for feminine, versatile looks come spring. Valentino is one of our top brands for event dressing given the special details that Pierpaolo Piccioli brings and, hoping for sunshine, there's nothing better than having aspirations of Capri and Positano with Dolce & Gabbana's beautiful prints. /BGNES
