Second-hand clothing sales could account for 10 percent of global fashion sales in 2025. This was reported by the British "Guardian", referring to a report by the analytical company GlobalData.
The publication also notes that global sales of used clothing will grow 18 percent in 2023 to $197 billion. By 2028, this amount is expected to grow to $350 billion. Researchers attribute this trend to the cost-of-living crisis and shoppers' concerns about the planet's environmental situation. "People are looking to buy second-hand items to get a better value," said James Reinhart, co-founder and CEO of online consignment store ThredUp. He noted that currently interest in second-hand items is observed not only among Generation Z and Millennials, but also among representatives of other age groups. /BGNES
