French courts have sentenced two men to a year in prison for stealing items from the Balmain collection destined for Paris Fashion Week in September.

A month earlier, at the initial hearing of the same case at the Criminal Court in Bobigny, Paris region, two men were sentenced to twelve and eighteen months imprisonment.

The public prosecutor, who had asked for six and five years' imprisonment, had appealed against these decisions.

During the second hearing on 13 March, Zuheir B., who was sentenced on Thursday to three years' imprisonment, two of which were suspended.

Having fallen into financial difficulties, he explained to the court that he had succumbed to the temptation and moral pressure of a man whose name he did not disclose.
