Halima Aden dazzled New York Fashion Week

Model Halima Aden made a fashion statement at New York Fashion Week this week, from attending shows to walking runways.
She attended the Carolina Herrera show, held on the 40th floor of a downtown skyscraper, where 360-degree views of Manhattan served as the backdrop for the fall/winter collection.
Aden opted for a pink suit ensemble consisting of a straight skirt paired with a button-down blazer and puffed sleeves. To complement her outfit, she chose a gold-coloured bag that matched her hijab and black heels embellished with gold detailing.
The American-Somali model shared photos from the show on Instagram, including one with British Vogue editor Anna Wintour. "I had a wonderful time attending Herrera's fashion show. Always a pleasure to see the lovely Ana," she captioned her post.
The collection highlighted the beauty of pink peonies with bright prints and intricate embroidery.
The peonies were positioned on the catwalk. A grey collarless wool coat featured pink peonies of varying sizes, while a shorter white wool cape was adorned with similarly detailed pink and yellow peonies.
The label's creative director Wes Gordon said he saw the flower - one of his favourites - on a piece of artwork and wanted to carry it over into his designs. "Beauty and elegance are all about the details, and we need more beauty in the world," Gordon said after the show.

"This season's motifs are based on a 19th-century pink peony gouache I found. I depicted it on chiffons on a fairly small scale... then put it on a ball gown. Our tailors depicted this floral painting in separate rows of thread," the creative director pointed out.
Actress and former model Diane Kruger sat in the front row with Demi Moore, Anna Wintour, Becky G, Misty Copeland and Julianne Huff.
Kruger noted that she has always appreciated "true American fashion" and called the clothes "very comfortable to wear."
Meanwhile, Aden walked the runway at the Sergio Hudson fashion show.
She wore flared plaid pants and a brown coat, under which she wore a black shirt. /BGNES
