Ethical fashion cares about our health and comfort

More and more people in Europe and our country are dressing according to the principles of ethical fashion.

The principles of ethical fashion dictate that people dress in clothes made entirely of natural materials and that the people who sewed them are fairly paid for their labour.

The textile company Cantarelli, which has located its production in the Danube city of Rousse, is one of the legislators of ethical fashion in our country. The company has taken on the difficult task of educating Bulgarian and foreign consumers on which clothes are right, how to invest our money when buying clothes, so that we wear ethical clothes, and not those that are produced in third-world countries outside the EU without complying with any rules, including the use of near-slave labour, BGNES reported.

"We especially explain to our customers that it is much better for their health to wear clothes made of natural materials because those made of artificial materials are dangerous. In this way, they will take care of their health and, accordingly, they will feel more comfortable," Adelina Ivanova, PR at the textile company Cantarelli, told BGNES.

For ethical fashion to take hold, it also needs some support from European institutions to protect it from unfair and highly aggressive bad practices in the textile industry. Adelina Ivanova said that such processes have already been activated: "A blockchain should be placed on the clothes themselves, where when scanning, it is possible to trace where the garment and every single material came from, as well as to see the brands themselves and what standards they follow." That way, the end user can really see if a product is ethically produced and make their choice."

Other measures that can be taken is to prevent fast fashion brands from aggressively imposing themselves on the market, even if they may be forced to stop their production or reorient it to ethical.

Cantarelli is currently concentrating on showing the power of its product in a new way to meet the modern demands of customers.

"Our brand is 50 years old and has developed very well. Times are different today and we are starting to target end users who think differently. For this purpose, we participate in the world's largest fashion fairs. We are interested in the wishes of the customers and offer them what they want," said Adelina Ivanova. /BGNES
