Beyonce shuts down New York Fashion Week

The gods smiled upon a warehouse in Bushwick as New York Fashion Week was winding down, Harper's Bazaar reported.

The cool space was filled with the usual industry suspects and throngs of celebrities gathered to see Luar's fall 2024 collection.

Designer Raul Lopez's shows are always stunning, not only for the distinctly irreverent, deconstructed designs, but also for the atmosphere - one that has brought a distinctly "chaotic good" energy back to New York Fashion Week over the past few years. Even so, last night proved to be truly special.

As guests took their seats and the conversations began to reach a buzz, a huge commotion could be heard from the far corner of the main catwalk. There was one reason: Beyoncé. She showed up wearing a cowboy hat, mirrored sunglasses, a beaded dress-suit, and, of course, carrying a Luar Ana bag.

Ms. Carter sat next to her mother, Tina Knowles, and her sister, Solange Knowles, sat further down the runway next to designer Christopher John Rogers. The family was there to watch Solange's son Danielle Julez J Smith walk the show.

The crowd applauded and Beyonce shook her head to the music as she proudly watched her nephew walk down the runway dressed in a long double-breasted leather suit and white shirt and tie.

The entire collection was as impressive as ever, with standout pieces like a beautifully cut maxi skirt with an exotic leather peplum, an oversized version of a classic cardigan and a denim swing skirt.

The collection also featured the debut of a collaboration with Moose Knuckles and a new core line by Lopez that includes T-shirts, hoodies, and sweats, all of which will sell for under $500.

The audience rose to its feet for the finale and greeted the conclusion of the fashion show with thunderous applause. Beyoncé and her security guards quickly filed out the back and left the commotion in their wake.

The crowd was dazzled by the fact that they were in the same room as Beyoncé, but also by Lopez. This is a designer who has worked hard and worked for years to build her brand. / BGNES
