At 8:30 p.m. last night, a report was received by the fire-fighting authorities in Bulgaria of a forest fire on the territory of the Republic of Macedonia, in close proximity to the border. A team from the district office visited the fire site, where there were already 10 forest officials and the local population from the village of Gega in Petri.

Around 06:30 today, information was received from the on-site team that the fire also affected a small area of ​​about 10 decares on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria, but at the moment the fire on our territory has been localized and extinguished.

Another fire broke out in the afternoon hours yesterday in a private forest area, within the scope of the Osogovo State Forest Service. Employees of the farm were immediately sent to the place and started fighting the fire. A team from the Kyustendil Police Department with a fire truck was also sent to help. 65 acres are affected.

The intervention of forest officials in extinguishing a fire in a state forest territory in the land of the village of Frolosh led to its rapid localization.

Employees from farms in Rila Monastery and Dupnitsa participated in the extinguishing, the affected area is 20 decares, of which 10 are peak fires. Thanks to the selfless actions of the foresters, greater damage to the Bulgarian forest was prevented. | BGNES
