Viktoria Tomova recorded a record ranking in her career

The first racket of Bulgaria Viktoria Tomova reached the top ranking of her career, after climbing to the 63rd place in the updated WTA ranking with an asset of 1035 points. Until now, Tomova's best ranking was the 64th position from February 5 this year.

Vicky Tomova has been performing at a very high level in recent weeks and has collected quite a few points in the last few tournaments she has participated in. She played in the semifinals of the WTA 250 series tournament in Rabat, and then achieved her first main draw victory at Roland Garros. On Sunday, June 16, she played in the final of the WTA 125 series tournament in Valencia, where she lost to the American Anne Li 3:6, 4:6. By reaching title contention in the Spanish city, Vicky Tomova earned 81 world ranking points, moving her to 63rd place and just 114 points out of the Top 50. Last week, Tomova also received official confirmation of her qualification for the olympic games in paris.

The second racket of Bulgaria, Gergana Topalova, lost 10 positions and is now #230 with 320 points on her account. However, Topalova has already secured her Grand Slam qualifying debut. Gergana will play in the Wimbledon qualifiers. Bulgaria's third racket Isabella Shinikova climbed 2 places to #250 with an asset of 288 points. Denislava Glushkova and Ani Vangelova made the biggest progress among the Bulgarian tennis players, who progressed by 9 places each and are now #606 and #873, respectively.
