Todor Tagarev discussed in the US the deployment of air defence and anti-ship missiles in Bulgaria

"I discussed in the US the possibilities of deploying allied anti-aircraft and coastal anti-ship missile complexes to strengthen Bulgaria's defence capabilities."

This was stated by the Bulgarian Defense Minister Todor Tagarev in the parliament, BGNES reported.
"We raised this question. Of course, it will be necessary to reach a common understanding both in the Pentagon and the State Department. They are aware of the situation here," Tagarev explained.
He said that in subsequent meetings this topic will be discussed again.
"Bilateral relations between Bulgaria and the US in the military field are of strategic importance. During the bilateral meetings, the US side also thanked us for the efforts made to increase the state budget funds for defence and aid to Ukraine," the defence minister emphasized.
It also emerged from the hearing that the Minister briefed the Americans on plans to build infrastructure for the deployment of the NATO multinational battle group on Bulgarian territory. /BGNES
