Over 40,000 branded perfumes detained in a semi-trailer truck at the Kulata checkpoint

40,490 "branded" perfumes, bearing the logos of world manufacturers, were detained by the officers of the "Customs Intelligence and Investigation" department at the Sofia Customs Department in the area of the Kulata border crossing, reported the "Customs" Agency.

On 13.08.2024, the customs officials selected for inspection a heavy goods vehicle with Bulgarian registration, which was transporting a group of goods from Greece to Spain.

In the course of the control actions, a total of 616 parcels containing 40,490 perfumes from various luxury brands were found. They were not described in the accompanying documents and there was a reasonable suspicion that they infringed intellectual property rights.

"Branded" perfumes are withheld. Actions on the case are ongoing.

At the end of July and the beginning of August this year in another eight inspections in the Tower area, customs officials seized more than 326,000 different goods - textiles, leather, perfumery, electric bicycles and appliances. | BGNES
