The number of invalid votes after the first round of the local elections is 39,961 ballots in total after the vote for mayor of a municipality, reported BGNES.
The leaders in terms of invalid ballots are Sofia city - 6,075, Sofia region - 3,895, Varna - 3,507, Pazardzhik - 2,207, Haskovo - 2,005, Plovdiv - 1,950 and Pleven - 1,912.
As in the parliamentary and local elections this year, the "I do not support anyone" column was filled in by hundreds of citizens in each district. In most places, the number of ballots cast by people who do not support anyone outweighs the votes of some mayoral candidates.
In Blagoevgrad, 5.18% of those who voted did not support anyone, or 1,785 votes. Thus, the non-supporters are in 5th place in the distribution of votes out of 13 candidates for mayor of the district. The number of invalid votes (ballots) found in the ballot boxes is 1,311.
In Burgas, those who did not support anyone are 2.86% or 1,777 votes and rank 6th among 13 mayoral candidates. 1,319 are the invalid ballots.
In Varna, those who voted "I do not support anyone" are 5.41% or 5,741 votes, ranking 7th among 11 candidates for mayor. 3,507 is the number of invalid ballots found in the ballot boxes.
In Veliko Tarnovo, "I do not support anyone" has 5.46% or 1,470 votes, which gives them 5th place among 9 candidates. 638 is the number of invalid ballots.
In Vidin, "I do not support anyone" has 3.35% or 653 votes, which places them in 8th place among 12 mayoral candidates. 830 is the number of invalid ballots.
In Vratsa, 3.16% do not support anyone, that's 827 votes. This places them 6th out of 10 mayoral candidates. 1,016 are the invalid ballots.
3.36% are those who do not support anyone in Gabrovo or 553, which gives them 8th place out of 9 candidates in the district. 465 are the invalid ballots.
In Dobrich, 3.08% do not support anyone, that's 662 votes and ranks 8th out of 12 candidates for mayor in the district. 407 are the invalid ballots.
In Kardzhali, 2.08% is the percentage of those who do not support anyone, or 538 votes, which ranks them in 6th place out of 8 mayoral candidates. 887 are the invalid ballots.
In Kyustendil, 3.83% do not support anyone or 842 votes, so they go to the 6th place out of 11 candidates for mayor. 671 are the invalid ballots.
In Lovech, 3.06% do not support anyone or 518 votes, they go to 8th place out of 10 candidates. 599 are the invalid ballots.
In Montana, 3.87% do not support anyone or 722 votes, so they rank 5th out of 7 candidates. 508 are the invalid ballots.
In Pazardjik, 2.75% do not support anyone or 990 votes, ranking 10th out of 13 candidates. 2,207 are the invalid ballots.
In Pernik, 3.26% do not support anyone or 1,173 votes, ranking 4th out of 8 mayoral candidates. 1,333 are the invalid ballots.
In Pleven, 3.43% do not support anyone or 1,461 votes, so they rank 10th out of 16 candidates. 1,912 are the invalid ballots.
In Plovdiv, 2.96% do not support anyone or 2,864 votes, this ranks them in 9th place out of 19 candidates for the post of mayor. 1,950 are the invalid ballots in the elections for mayor of the municipality of Plovdiv.
In Razgrad, 2.60% do not support anyone or 449 votes, this ranks them in 8th place out of 12 candidates for mayor. 478 are the invalid ballots.
