The Supreme Administrative Court (SAC) overturned the decision of the CEC not to vote with machines

SAC overruled the CEC's decision on machine voting, reported BGNES.

Next Sunday, in the second round of the local elections, it will be possible to vote with machines, VAS decided. In practice, VAS canceled the decision of the CEC, which mandated voting only with paper ballots in the first round of local elections.

The court session lasted for about 5 hours, as the judges did not take into account the motives of the CEC, that with the report of DANS, the integrity of the vote is impugned.

12 complaints were considered by the Supreme Court today, among them was that of "We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria", according to which the CEC's decision is "political". She disputes the thesis of the CEC, that the decision of the Ministry of e-Government for the certification of the machines was not reached until the last moment.

The CEC defended its decision to cancel the machine voting.

It is expected that the CEC will schedule a new session to issue its own decision following the decision of the Supreme Court.

During the court session, it became clear that the vote of the first round will not be counted, and the decision of the Supreme Court cannot be appealed. /BGNES
