The Russian oil processed massively at the "Lukoil" refinery in Bulgaria divided Bulgarian political leaders

Prominent GERB party political representatives Desislava Atanasova and Delyan Dobrev walked out of the Security Council's extraordinary meeting, reported BGNES.

"We consider our participation to be absolutely pointless, because all our concerns, which we expressed during these past months, were once again confirmed today" said Atanasova.

Atanasova further stated that it became evident that the supply of processed products was under the supervision of the Ministry of Finance, which was in charge of the "Customs" Agency.

Additionally, Delyan Dobrev underscored that "Lukoil" was prepared to transition to exclusively non-Russian fuels "yesterday, not within a span of three days", but with a reduction in the operational capacity of its oil processing facilities, "which is still adequate to meet the nation's fuel requirements". Over fifty percent of the hydrocarbons produced by Lukoil are exported internationally, he added.

Dobrev further stated that dozens of tankers are overloaded in the open ocean, and their ultimate destination is unknown." He characterized this situation as highly scandalous. All issues and violations of Bulgarian and European law will cease, he noted, if the derogation is revoked within three days. /BGNES
