The runoff election day in the Bulgarian capital has officially began

The second round of the local elections in the capital has officially started, after which it will become clear who will be the new mayor, reported a BGNES reporter.

Voting sections in the capital's 127th secondary school "Ivan Denkoglu" opened their doors at 7:00 in the morning in anticipation of voters. The members of the Sectional Election Commission in the school started to gather at 6:30 in the morning and opened the section exactly at 7:00. Already in the early hours of today, the first voters who chose to vote by machine came to the ballot boxes.

There are police officers on the spot who will monitor the peaceful conduct of the election day.

In the second round, voting will take place in 7250 sections, in 5900 sections voting will be done by machines. This was decided by the Supreme Administrative Court, which cancelled the decision of the Central Election Commission from the first round to vote only with paper ballots.

6,380,052 voters have the right to vote in the runoff. On November 5, those voters who gained electoral rights between the first and second rounds, including those who turn 18, can vote and are included in the electoral rolls. /BGNES
