The President of the Bulgarian National Assembly, Rosen Jhelyazkov: Bulgaria and India want to intensify their relations

Bulgaria and India want and must intensify their traditionally good relations. In recent years, they have been put on the back burner, perhaps due to the internal turmoil in our country. There are many investment opportunities on the Asian side. This was stated by the President of the Bulgarian National Assembly, Rosen Jhelyazkov, after holding a meeting with the Vice President and Speaker of the Upper House of the Parliament of India, Jagdeep Dhankhar, reported the special envoy of BGNES in New Delhi, Dimitar Ruskov.

The two discussed the possibilities of restoring bilateral relations.

"We discussed both high-level political and sectoral issues. In view of the expected signing of the free trade agreement between India and the European Union, this will facilitate future investments," Zhelyazkov said.

He emphasized that in the coming years, the importance of Asia in the world economy will grow more and more.

The two countries will sign joint programs in the fields of education and culture, as well as in science and new technologies this year.

India is seeking Bulgaria's support for the Solar Alliance, the Disaster and Crisis Infrastructure Initiative and for its candidacy for a non-permanent member of the Security Council.

Zhelyazkov sees great opportunities for bilateral investments, stating that similar examples already exist.

"The third largest Internet provider in India is Bulgarian and its services are used by millions of people," the chairman recalled.

Zhelyazkov presented Dhankhar with a copy of the Thracian silver treasure from Bregovo. The rhytons purified the ritual mixture of wine and water and made it sacred. The sphinx is the most interesting part of the treasure. It symbolizes wisdom and strength. The second rhyton has a proton of the sacred animal of the Thracians - a horse. The third - of a bull, which expresses masculinity and strength.

Later, Zhelyazkov will hold talks with the Speaker of the Lower House of the Indian Parliament - Om Birla.

The Bulgarian delegation honored the memory of the Indian leader and spiritual leader Mahatma Gandhi at his monument in the capital. It is located between the new and old parliament buildings in the capital. There, Zhelyazkov offered flowers, which in the Indian tradition is the scattering of flowers.

In the coming days, the President of the National Assembly will be on an official visit to Vietnam.

Part of the delegation is Denitsa Sacheva, Hristo Gadjev (GERB-SDS), Stoyan Mihalev, Neli Dimitrova (PP-DB), Angel Georgiev (Vazrazhdane), Hamid Hamid, Valentin Tonchev (DPS), Borislav Gutsanov (BSP), Tsvetan Predov, Alexander Valchev (ITN), Galina Stoyanova, mayor of Kazanlak municipality. /BGNES
