The Olympic champion 87 kg classical wrestling Semen Novikov: I felt the support of all Bulgarians, my next goal is the world title

Novikov and our other wrestling champion Magomed Ramazanov received a champion's welcome at Sofia Airport today.

"A victory in any language is a victory. My next goal is a world title. I was European, now Olympic, I need a set. I can't believe it yet, like a stolen medal I feel it. It's always an honour for me. Why I love gold medals because only after them you can wave the flag of the country you represent". This was stated by Olympic champion Semen Novikov upon his return from Paris, where he won a gold medal in the category of up to 87 kilograms of classical wrestling, reported BGNES.

Novikov and our other wrestling champion Magomed Ramazanov received a champion's welcome at Sofia Airport today. "Thank you very much, because I felt the support of every Bulgarian. I am happy when I read nice words from them. I thank many people, but first of all, Mr. Grisha Ganchev and Mr. Daniel Ganchev gave me a second life in sports. Thank you to the whole of Bulgaria for this chance to fight for Bulgaria. Thanks to the Bulgarian Wrestling Federation and the president of the Federation, the national team, the doctors, the masseurs, and the sparring partners. I want to say to the CSKA club - all those who start training, do not give up in the face of difficulties, because there are always difficulties. I had a lot of losses, I had serious injuries, but I always came back and won what I wanted," said the gold medalist.

"I don't know how I will celebrate, I want to sleep for a whole day," Novikov admitted to the media. | BGNES
