The new Bulgarian caretaker government PM nominee Gorica Grancharova goes to President Radev at 11.00

Grancharova's deadline to present the composition of the project cabinet expires today.

The head of state Rumen Radev will receive 2 candidates for acting prime minister, Gorica Grancharova-Kozhareva, at "Dondukov". This will happen at 11.00 today.

The press office of the head of state informs only that in fulfillment of art. 99, para. 5 of the Constitution, on August 9, the president designated the deputy chairman of the Audit Chamber as ex-officio prime minister and tasked her with proposing the composition of an ex-officio cabinet. It is not stated whether Grancharova will present to the president a replenished composition of the Council of Ministers.

BGNES reminds that Grancharova's term expires today. She had a week to hold talks and make her choice. The most important task of the caretaker government is the organization of fair and free elections, and in order for the elections to be held on October 20, the new caretaker cabinet must be sworn in before the National Assembly on August 20 at the latest.

Gorica Grancharova had to find 19 ministers by August 19.

Finance Minister Lyudmila Petkova will keep her post, and in her conversation with Kozhareva, they discussed staying as deputy prime minister.

According to unofficial information, Grancharova also held a conversation with Maria Pavlova, who heads the Ministry of Justice.

Official Minister of Agriculture Georgi Tahov remains in his post and in Gorica Grancharova's office. Acting Interior Minister Kalin Stoyanov has not received an invitation to remain in his post and in Grancharova's office.

The acting Minister of Energy Vladimir Malinov and the Minister of Economy Petko Nikolov also keep their posts. "If I receive a proposal from the Prime Minister, he said, I will accept it in order to complete the inspection of Bulgartransgaz, but also because there are still many key issues to be resolved," Malinov specified.

So far, the ministers who have accepted and will probably keep their posts in the new cabinet are: defense, transport, culture, justice, finance - Atanas Zapryanov, Georgi Gvozdeikov, Nayden Todorov, Maria Pavlova, Lyudmila Petkova. Galin Tsokov of education and Galya Kondeva of health care also agree to remain ministers. Ivan Kondov, on the other hand, will most likely take over the position of acting minister of foreign affairs, until now he was held by Dimitar Glavchev.

Daniela Vezieva, the former Minister of Economy in Stefan Yanev's office, stated that she would accept an invitation from Grancharova, but it depends on the conditions set for her.

The caretaker minister of innovation and growth, Rosen Karadimov, also held talks with the future caretaker prime minister, Gorica Grancharova-Kozhareva, regarding participation in a new cabinet. Karadimov would accept to stay in office, but it will "depend on many factors." We are yet to see the names of the 19 ministers. | BGNES
