On May 1, an "information day" was held dedicated to the double-decker buses with which the citizens of the capital will ride to "Vrana" park, the village of Dolni Pasarel and Bankya from "Sveti Alexander Nevsky" square, BGNES reported.
"The buses have been delivered from Berlin, four in number, and the goal is to fully cover lines #43, #50, and on weekdays to start a line in the direction of Dolni Passarel," Mario Evstatiev, head of the passenger information and attraction transports in "Metropolitan Transport", as well as the author of the idea of double-decker buses.
There are 129 seats, and people enjoy themselves immensely. "I always see some smiling faces, people who are amazed at the level of service and people who wish the lines would be extended," Mario Evstatiev shared.
He explained that in the future, after the delivery of more such buses, a regular departure line will be launched to the National History Museum. "On holidays, it's difficult to get there and it takes about an hour's travel time, and with such an express line it takes only 25 minutes," noted Mario Evstatiev.
He emphasized that there will be such lines on all holidays and weekends, so that the citizens of Sofia can have fun and get to the sights of Sofia quickly. "We're trying to get people to leave their private cars and take a nice ride on these wonderful double-decker buses," added the head of passenger information and attraction transport at the Metropolitan Transport. /BGNES
