The crisis in MRF - is there a way out?

The crisis in the MRF deepened after the letter of the honorary chairman of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF), Dr Ahmed Dogan, in which he asked Delyan Peevski and five other key persons from the party to resign. Peevski flatly refused to do so, saying that doing so would betray the trust of party members.

The party crisis caused several comments, both among the representatives of the MRF and from other parties.
Ramadan Atalai, who was expelled last week from the PG of the MRF, believes that the crisis has begun to be resolved. He stated that the collective bodies would meet soon and a decision would be taken. According to him, if the National Council decides to remove Peevski, "even if he continues to persist, things will be resolved."

GERB leader Boyko Borisov stated that there are tremors everywhere: "The tremors in the second are the same as in the third, fourth and fifth parties. You have always heard from me that I don't get involved in foreign parties and I don't allow them to get involved in GERB either." He recalled that 3 months ago he stated that GERB would not participate in a coalition in which it is only with MRF.

"As for MRF- we already stated 3 months ago that a coalition with MRFonly GERB will not do. Then we heard all kinds of nonsense from analysts, what do I think? The negotiations proved indisputably that we neither asked for support nor gave support to MRF", recalled the leader of GERB and specified: I was in a group with Lena, Kiro, Asen and Denkov and the cabinet was called Gabriel-Denkov. DPS did not participate in this meeting, nor did they have ministers, nor did they participate in the negotiations.

To the question of who will win in the MRF, the leader answered jokingly: I don't like the Spain-England final. Who will win there in this case is none of our business. I see that a very big opportunity is opening up because, in the mixed regions, the battle was fought only between GERB and MRF.

The co-chairman of PP-DB Kiril Petkov stated that we are witnessing the slow degradation of the "Peevski" model.
Toshko Yordanov from "There is Such People" political party stated that "we are watching the processes in the MRF with interest." "Before this briefing, we all stretched out on the TV to watch another batch of MRF MPs being turned off. We will be watching with interest,” he said.

Today, the expelled co-chairman of the MRF, Jevdet Chakarov, stated that the MRFi s for the unity and togetherness of everyone in Bulgaria.

According to the chairman of the movement, it is very dangerous and no one should allow themselves to touch the ethnic card.

MRF has always been monolithic. This was stated by the chairman of the movement, Jevdet Chakarov, BGNES reported.

Chakarov pointed out that their relations with the other half of the MRF MPs, who support the other chairman, Delyan Peevski, will be based on the principles of "democratic management, action of collective bodies".

Chakarov commented on the words of MP Yordan Tsonev about the use of hate speech by people who support Ahmed Dogan.

"We heard the announcement about ethnic components. I want to state categorically that Dogan's understanding and philosophy, which we can say is the basis of the ethnic model in Bulgaria. I state most responsibly and categorically, MRF is for the unity of everyone in Bulgaria ", he said.

According to him, it is very dangerous and no one should allow themselves to touch the ethnic map.
"There is no such moment, we are together with our colleagues. We have to be together, this is our vision of togetherness", emphasized Chakarov.

BGNES reminds that the MRF parliamentary group excluded Jevdet Chakarov and the deputies who supported the honorary chairman Ahmed Dogan yesterday, BGNES reported.

The following are excluded from the composition of the PG of the MRF: 1. Alizan Yahova; 2. Andrzej Jandev; 3. Valentin Tonchev; 4. Jevdet Chakarov; 5. Edis Daudov; 6. Esheref Esheref; 7. Levent Memish; 8. Erduan Mehmed; 9. Mario Rangelov; 10. Mehmed Salim; 11. Pavlin Krastev; 12. Sevim Ali; 13. Timur Khalilov; 14. Fatme Ramadan; 15. Habibe Rasim; 16. Hairi Sadakov; 17. Yusein Veiselov.

As soon as it became clear about the exclusion of the protesting MPs, Ahmed Akhmedov Vranchev left the group. Thus, the total number of people's representatives outside the ranks of the PG of the MRF becomes 18, and the parliamentary group of the movement has 26 deputies with 1 chairman in the person of Delyan Peevski and 6 vice-chairmen.

Jevdet Chakarov stated that the exclusion is an illegitimate act that does not comply with the MRF statute. According to him, this act was taken under pressure and out of fear.

"You see the style and the approach, it is paid special attention by Dogan. Threats have been made against each of us," Chakarov announced. He stated that many MRF sympathizers do not support this approach. "We fully stand behind our honorary chairman, Dr. Ahmed Dogan, for the fact that we must return democratic principles to the functioning of the DPS, to overcome fear," Chakarov said categorically.

For his part, Delyan Peevski stressed that certain people want to destroy MRF. He cannot believe what Dogan wrote. "I have always been in favour of unification and now I am in favour of unification. I'm not at war with anybody, other people are at war,” he said. Asked if he could define Dogan as a derby, Peevski said that question should be addressed to the honorary chairman. He is adamant that MRF should have been united. Peevski stated that he did not split the DPS, but that 17 deputies practically excluded themselves with their actions.

Until now, the PG of the MRF numbered 44 people's representatives. As of today, the PG of the movement will number 26. This makes it the fourth political formation in the parliament. We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (WCC-DB) has 39 people's representatives, "Vazrazhdane" political party - 38. From this follows the second exploratory mandate that President Rumen Radev will hand over to WCC-DB.

Then Delyan Peevski announced a new beginning.

"Certain people want to destroy MRF. I have always been in favor of unification and now I am in favor of unification. I'm not at war with anyone, other people are at war."

This was said by MRF chairman Delyan Peevski after 17 MPs were expelled from the movement's parliamentary group, including the other PG chairman, and minutes after Jevdet Chakarov said the decision was illegitimate, BGNES reported.

This is extremely frivolous. Chakarov, who calls and pressures everyone, said Peevski on the occasion of Chakarov's words.
According to him, certain people want to destroy MRF.

"What I read, I can't believe that the honorary chairman is doing it. He who divides his party is at his own expense. I don't wage wars with anyone, I want to work for the people and for things to work out," said Peevski.
He referred the question "Is Ahmed Dogan a "deribey" (from Turkish - tyrant - editor's note)" to the honorary chairman of the movement.

"MRF should have been united, we and my colleagues do not split it. These colleagues - the 17 people's representatives expelled today, practically excluded themselves. They created the faction "MRF17", Delyan Peevski also stated.
According to him, everything that is happening is not for the benefit of the people.

He stated that his only answer was: "A new beginning!". | BGNES
