The CEC refused to reconsider its decision to cancel the machine voting in the upcoming local elections in Bulgaria, reported BGNES.
The proposal was made as an extraordinary item on the agenda of the CEC meeting, but did not receive the necessary support.
The reasons are that the State Agency for National Security (SANS) report and the actions of the Deputy Minister of e-Government cast doubt on machine voting.
Yordanka Gancheva, a member of the CEC, commented that it is necessary to bring calmness to voters in order to hold fair and transparent elections. "In my opinion, there is no change in the CEC's decision, this will bring chaos," Gancheva believes.
Erhan Chaushev, also a member of the CEC, commented that the actions of the Deputy Minister of e-Government raise risks regarding honesty and trust in machine voting. /BGNES
