The MPs of the Bulgarian National Assembly voted against the GERB-proposed "Zhelyazkov" cabinet.
MPs voted against the candidacy of Rosen Zhelyazkov for Prime Minister proposed by GERB-UDF (GERB-Union of Democratic Forces), reported BGNES.
The proposed new cabinet by the leading Bulgarian political party, which won the June 9 parliamentary elections and put to the vote a minority government today in the Bulgarian Parliament did not pass.
Out of 238 MPs, 98 MPs were in favour. 138 voted against and two abstained.
According to procedure, after the candidate for Prime Minister is not approved, then the structure and composition of the Council of Ministers proposed by the candidate for Prime Minister is not voted on.
BGNES reminds that on Monday, July 1, President Rumen Radev gave the first political force - GERB-UDF a mandate to form a government, and on the same day the head of state issued a decree proposing to the 50th National Assembly to elect the candidate for Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov.
One deputy prime minister and 19 ministers were proposed in the "Zhelyazkov" draft cabinet. Seven of them are acting ministers in the office of Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev - Lyudmila Petkova, Kalin Stoyanov, Atanas Zapryanov, Maria Pavlova, Evtim Miloshev, Georgi Takhov and Georgi Gvozdeikov. Among the other proposals for ministers are prominent personalities from GERB-UDF, such as Tomislav Donchev for Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Innovation and Growth, Delyan Dobrev for Minister of Energy, Daniel Mitov - to head the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Temenuzhka Petkova for Minister of Economy, Denitsa Sacheva - in the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy and Krasen Kralev as Sports Minister.
