Bulgarian President Rumen Radev will not withdraw the decree proposing the National Assembly to elect Maria Gabriel as prime minister, the head of state's press secretariat announced.
Earlier today the WCC-DB called on Radev to withdraw the decree. In accordance with the Constitution, when an exploratory mandate to form a government is received, the President issues a decree proposing the National Assembly to elect the candidate proposed by the relevant parliamentary group as Prime Minister.
The Head of State's decree under Article 99 has no bearing on either the structure or the composition of the Council of Ministers, and it is the explicit responsibility of the prime minister-designate to propose them to Parliament for a vote," the Presidency said. /BGNES
