The Bukgarian MPs will make a second attempt to solve the difficult task and elect their own chairman, reported BGNES.

Initially, 4 candidates were nominated, two of them went to the runoff. But no one gathered the necessary support.

After the two rounds, the National Assembly failed to elect a chairman and now the struggle will continue again so that the legislative work can be unblocked. GERB candidate Raya Nazaryan received the most votes: 115, supported by GERB-UDF (GERB-Union of Democratic Forces) and the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF). After her was the candidate of Vazrazhdane - Petar Petrov - with 41 votes from the MPs from his party and three from ITN (There is Such People political party).

ITN candidate Slavi Kirilov, Petar Petrov of "Vazrazhdane" political party and Prof. Yuliana Mateeva, nominated by "Velichie" political party did not receive the necessary votes either.

However, the stakes are high - GERB leader Boyko Borisov said that if Raya Nazaryan does not become the speaker of the 50th parliament, the country will go to the next, consecutive, early parliamentary elections. He himself called for a broad coalition and a cabinet supported by as many political parties as possible. And he stated that he would not withdraw her candidacy because the matter was "principled". He was supported by the chairman of the MRF, Delyan Peevski, who also stated that the largest political force should nominate a chairman.

On Wednesday afternoon, We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria once again reminded that they will not support a government of Borisov, and the leader of ITN Slavi Trifonov announced that he will not support a government with the first or second mandate at all, and insisted that President Radev give him the third mandate when he comes time for that.

So far, however, only MRF have declared their support, and 121 votes are needed for a majority. |BGNES
