On Monday, a police officer was shot by his 7-year-old child at his workplace.
A disciplinary inspection will clarify whether there are any gaps in the activities of the employees of the Specialized Police Forces /SPS/ sector, what they mean, and who the persons who committed such violations are.
This is what the director of the Plovdiv police, Senior Commissioner Georgi Chergov, said late last night on the occasion of the serious incident in which a policeman was shot by his 7-year-old child at his workplace. Chergov reported that at 4:40 p.m. yesterday, he was informed that the 49-year-old police officer from the Police Service in Plovdiv Nikolay Filipov, who is a shooting instructor in the "Special Tactical Actions" sect, was shot by his 7-year-old son. The incident occurred in the policemen's rest area after work in the sector, located next to the Rowing Base, the Bulgarian National Radio specified. The child was found by the policeman's colleagues in the corridor.
"In the vestibule, where the lockers for the employees' personal belongings are also located, they noticed the child of their colleague holding a gun in his hands, they came into contact with him, calmly seized the gun, neutralized it and informed the management, and on the spot also found the gunshot wound of the colleague, which led to a fatal end," explained Chergov.
The procedural-investigative actions started immediately, a psychologist was provided to work with the child and the necessary experts from the investigation group. They were carried out under the supervision of a prosecutor from the District Prosecutor's Office and their analysis will continue within the framework of the initiated pre-trial proceedings. All employees on the territory of the SPS have been identified and will be questioned, a large number of them have already been questioned.
Art. Commissioner Chergov reported to Interior Minister Kalin Stoyanov, who will be on the territory of the Plovdiv Directorate today. On the occasion of his requested resignation, Chregov said the following: I have never been afraid to take responsibility, I am ready to take whatever responsibility is necessary and whatever the management decides. They will decide what is best for the directorate and the staff behind me. | BGNES
