The 51st National Assembly Bulgaria remains without a Chairman

There is no elected Chairman of the 51st National Assembly, BGNES reported.

Silvi Kirilov, who temporarily is presidинг over Parliament, announced a 30-minute break after today's vote, which lasted in a ballot as in the previous two attempts. Kirilov appealed to political parties and coalitions to propose a day at the next sitting. 

At the ballot Andrei Tsekov of the „PP-DB“ did not gather the necessary support to become the President of the National Assembly. 56 MPs voted for him, 105 were against and 68 abstained.

Raya Nazaryan from GERB-SDS” also did not get the required number of votes. 69 MPs voted for her, 132 were against and 37 abstained.

Before that, the first round of voting was held without debate in plenary. The formations jerked their nominations for candidates for the presidency, with only the ITN proposing doyen Silvi Kirilov to head the parliament.

Here is how the voting went in the first round: 56 MPs voted for Andrei Tsekov from PP-DB, 105 were against, 78 abstained. For Assoc. Natalia Kiselova 38 MPs voted in favour, 51 against, 150 abstained. For lawyer Petar Petrov voted 36 in favour, 61 against, 142 abstentions. Raya Nazaryan gathered the support of 70 MPs, 126 were against, 43 abstained. A re-vote was requested for the GERB-FSD candidate, in which Nazaryan received the support of 69, 127 were against, 43 abstained. The nomination of „ITN“ Assoc. Silvi Kirilov to head the 51st National Assembly gathered the support of 37 deputies, against - 35, 167 abstained. | BGNES
