Tagarev: The vote of no confidence does not reflect the objective state of the army

"A large portion of defense problems are complex and necessitate complex solutions." We will announce the entire Cabinet strategy in a Defense White Paper in February."

According to BGNES, Defense Minister Todor Tagarev announced this from the parliamentary rostrum during deliberations on the motion of no confidence in the government directed at the defense and security sector.

Tagarev emphasized that the government has guaranteed a 10% raise for individuals working in the "Defense" sector. He is insistent that resources must be used efficiently, and that choices must be made in a more transparent and honest manner.

In response to the BSP's accusations of a conflict of interest, Tagarev stated, "The manager of the company "Telesis," which is part of the consortium of Bulgarian unmanned aerial systems, is a partner of my wife, albeit with a minor stake, and has not participated in the company's management for at least 20 years." "More importantly, my wife and I have no interest or involvement in the Telesis company," he stated.

"The problem is quite significant for people. The situation is particularly dire for ground forces. "This problem does not begin with the current government's mandate," said the minister, adding that the major reasons for this are the demographic situation and the repercussions of the epidemic. According to him, the vast misinformation campaign carried out by some parliamentaryly represented organizations has resulted in a drop in the number of applications to higher military schools.

"This year, there were 35% fewer applicants for the Vasil Levski National Military University, and 45% fewer accepted cadets," Tagarev wrote in a statement.

The Minister of Defense was insistent that the vote of no confidence in Denkov's cabinet presented by the BSP, Vazrazhdane, and Ima Taliev Narod did not accurately reflect the army's current status. /BGNES
