Stiliyan Petrov and Martin Petrov quit Bulgarian football

Stiliyan Petrov and Martin Petrov will no longer be involved in Bulgarian football.

This was announced by the two former football stars, members of Dimitar Berbatov's team, Stiliyan Petrov and Martin Petrov, BGNES reported.

Their decision was made after, at today's extraordinary election Congress, Berbatov lost in the first round to Georgi Ivanov-Gonzo with 181-235 votes in the battle for the presidency of the BFS.

"Mr. Ivanov declared himself the Executive Committee. I stay with Dimitar Berbatov. We will all see if it is the right choice. In the last few months and days, we have been accused of seeing certain people. It was seen that we are real and keep our reputation. Stiliyan Petrov is this far with Bulgarian football. I'll go about my business now,” snapped Stanley.

"We will still do the analysis. What we can be proud of is that every moment these three years we stood with our faces. Our names remain clear. It will turn out to be a victory. We struggled with the problems of the BFS. We hope that the new president will listen and work," he continued, and when asked by BGNES whether there is still an opportunity to change his decision, he replied:

"I don't need football. I have different directions and businesses. I probably won't be in football. I have devoted myself to different things," concluded Stiliyan Petrov.

Martin was also adamant. "I'm also done with Bulgarian football. I will ask you not to look for me anymore to comment on Bulgarian football. We tried for three years to do something. We did our best. It's good that any doubts have been cleared. I'm going home to Madrid, I'm going to clean the pool and rest," shared the former player of Atletico Madrid and Manchester City. /BGNES
