The merger between the National Revenue Agency (NRA) and the Customs Agency is going according to plan and is being worked on from January 1, 2025, despite the still pending legal changes. This was stated in Veliko Tarnovo by the executive director of the NRA Rumen Specov.
He is holding closed-door meetings with tax and customs officials about the impending merger of the two agencies. For Veliko Tarnovo, it has not yet been decided where the administration of the mega department will be located - whether in Ruse, where the Customs are or in Veliko Tarnovo, where the tax headquarters for the regions from Veliko Tarnovo to Vidin is located.
The merger processes are going according to plan, but there are still unclear points, Spetsov commented to BNR:
"The biggest problems are the changes in the normative acts, in what form, under what jurisdiction, in what way should work be done, which laws should be changed".
The National Revenue Agency has no concerns about the implementation of the consolidated plan for tax revenues for the state budget, Rumen Spetsov pointed out and reported that the latest measure for the collection of tax obligations through notaries is giving good results:
"Confession of transactions, which must take place upon repayment of all the obligations of each of the parties, additional revenues came, which almost every day are 2 million BGN."
Regarding the increased number of millionaires in Bulgaria after the end of the tax campaign, Spetsov commented:
"This is very good from our point of view because it shows a stable economic environment." /BGNES
