South African police: Six are suspected of the murder of Krasimir Kamenov

In May last year, Krasimir Kamenov (nicknamed Kuro) and three other people from Bulgaria were killed in the elite suburb of Cape Town - Constantia. Police have now revealed that six suspects fled the scene and have released photos of two men who may have been involved, the Daily Maverick reported.
Two men may hold clues that could shed light on exactly what led to the murder of Curro, his wife and two employees at their Constantia home last year
The murders exposed vast global criminal problems and sparked a host of theories - from illegal diamond deals to the involvement of local gangs and international political conspiracies - as to why the four were targeted.
On 8 March 2024, almost a year after the murders, the South African Police Service (SAPS) issued a statement hinting that it may have a breakthrough.
Police spokesman Anelisive Manyana said law enforcement was hoping for the public's help in tracking down two people "allegedly involved" in the shooting that took place on May 25 last year.
"According to reports, four people were shot and killed in Constantia, and six suspects were seen fleeing the scene in a blue Hyundai and a white VW Golf GTI," Magnana said.
"Two people were later seen under a bridge on the N1 motorway driving a white VW Passat and the same VW Golf GTI from the scene. It is believed that these two can assist the police in the investigation of the aforementioned murders," the spokesman added the police.
The SAPS has released two images of the people it suspects were involved in the shooting.
The images appear to be footage from CCTV footage.
In one image, a man wearing bright red pants, a white vest and a black jacket stands frowning in front of a white car by the side of the road. He appears to be clutching some object in his right hand.
The second photo shows the same person interacting with a second man wearing jeans and a black long-sleeved top.
The Daily Maverick previously reported that the Bulgarian embassy in Pretoria said Kamenov had been living in the country since 2008 and had traveled using a passport in his own name.
"On 04/06/2023, the South African authorities were informed that Mr. Kamenov was wanted for the purpose of being arrested and extradited in connection with an Interpol red notice," the Bulgarian embassy said in a statement.
Kuro was accused of involvement in the murder of ex-policeman Lubomir Ivanov, who was fatally shot in Sofia in March 2023.
Based on what the Bulgarian embassy said, the South African authorities were aware of the fact that Kamenov was wanted at the time of his murder.
After the murders, it also became clear that there may be more Bulgarian suspects wanted by the police in South Africa.
The publication claims that Kamenov may have had information about Ruza Ignatova from Bulgaria, who is among the FBI's 10 most wanted suspects.
Ignatova allegedly ran a global crypto scam that operated under various names, including OneCoin and OneLife.
