First of all, I am grateful. This is about the history of Bulgaria. I thank the Lord that I have lived this moment. They are terrible emotions. What doesn't go through my mind at such moments?
HRH Simeon of Saxe-Coburg said this emotionally to journalists, who welcomed the mortal remains of his grandfather King Ferdinand I of Bulgaria in the "Vrana" Palace near the Bulgarian capital Sofia, reported BGNES.
"This act shows that we respect our past, recognize it and respect it. I think it should be here - in the family crypt," HRH Simeon Saxe-Coburg-Gotha added.
He expressed the deep hope that the return of the remains of King Ferdinand would be a symbol of the unity of the Bulgarian nation. "Give it, God! This is a signal to our present, especially to look to the future. If we have no idea about the past, we cannot expect much about the future," declared HRH Simeon of Saxe-Coburg.
The former Bulgarian Prime Minister and Tsar Simeon of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha declared that he accepted the idea of BGNES in Sofia to name a boulevard after Tsar Ferdinand, given the monarch's merits for the modernization and Europeanization of Bulgaria and, in particular, of its capital.
