The only meeting held today to negotiate a government gave an evasive result.
GERB-UDF (GERB-Union of Democratic Forces) met with the "There is Such People" political party (ITN) for talks on forming a government of shared responsibility. Still, the results show uncertainty regarding support for a cabinet with the first mandate, BGNES reported.
The country needs a regular government and the crisis of low voter turnout can be solved through action, courage and responsibility we have proposed a formula which is called a government of shared responsibility. This was stated by Denitsa Sacheva from GERB-UDF after the party's meeting with ITN.
Any decisions that are expressed in inaction and in looking after the narrow party interest, we have no doubt that in the end they will be rejected by the voters.
We are acting responsibly towards those who voted for us and towards the others who expect the country to be put back on a stable footing, she commented.
GERB wants to make a government and take the responsibility of having a government of shared responsibility. The Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) and ITN have not expressed a clear position to support a government. We have coverage for certain policies, but we do not have definite answers for parliamentary support, Sacheva specified. We will see what will happen tomorrow and whether the National Assembly will elect its own chairman. The leader of GERB Boyko Borisov will not meet with the leader of Velichie, Sacheva further specified. GERB will announce its nomination for the chairman of the National Assembly tomorrow morning.
Toshko Yordanov from ITN said for his part that they listened to the ideas of GERB. "We will have to discuss and think with our colleagues, this is the first meeting, nothing concrete happened," said Yordanov. He categorically stated that their party is for an expert cabinet.
"But from the idea of an expert office to its realization, there is too much work. We don't have an answer to these questions yet. Names were not discussed, we heard GERB's ideas for a management program by sector, and the conversation was specific, not general. We shared some of our priorities and that's it," Yordanov pointed out. There is a long way to go between ideas and implementation, we think that there should be an expert office and a point on the matter, Yordanov also pointed out.
BGNES recalls that on Monday GERB-UDF held a meeting with MRF, from which it became clear that their common programs overlapped in search of a government for shared responsibility.
An indisputable priority of both parties is membership of the Eurozone. They will work for Bulgaria to have sustainable public finances.
GERB-SDS and DPS have the same view on anti-corruption reform. The first task is to introduce the rules for the election of members of the Anti-Corruption Commission. After that, a completely new law will be made for the confiscation of illegally acquired property.
