President Rumen Radev accused Assen Vassilev and Kiril Petkov of having done nothing to diversify gas supplies, BGNES reported.
Radev commented on the contract with the Turkish company "Botas" for the supply of natural gas to Bulgaria and the accusations that it had harmed the country.
The President pointed out that the contract was signed in critical circumstances and that the "We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria" cabinet led by Prime Minister Kiril Petkov had left Bulgaria without gas in 2022.
Radev said that during the governments of "We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria" Bulgargas was almost twice driven to bankruptcy. "Why is it that during the governments of We Continue Change-Democratic Bulgaria, which are waging a selfless struggle with Putin, piped gas is coming in powerfully from a single direction?" he asked.
The head of state accused "We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria" of not seizing the opportunity to supply LNG through Botash.
The President also commented on whether the leaders of "We Continue the Change" Assen Vassilev and Kiril Petkov had worked against diversification. "A check will establish very accurately, but no diversification happened during their time," Radev added. /BGNES
