President Rumen Radev was unable to meet with the President of North Macedonia, Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, while he was visiting the Vatican and Rome on the occasion of the May 24 holiday of the Bulgarian alphabet, education and culture, BGNES reported.
"My message to the president of the Republic of North Macedonia is that Bulgaria expects a change in rhetoric and finally an end to the language of hatred as soon as possible. The RSM must show that it really wants to be part of the United Europe by fulfilling all the requirements that are asked of it by the EU, as was the case for every member country", said Rumen Radev.
He defined as a positive sign that the president of North Macedonia showed a desire for a meeting, but the program was extremely busy and it did not take place. "Only through dialogue will we strengthen mutual trust. My call is for this meeting to take place an hour sooner," said Radev and specified that it was the turn of the president of North Macedonia to come to Bulgaria. "For a long time, for years, I have been inviting the president of North Macedonia to come to Bulgaria," he added. /BGNES
