Romania reinforces the NATO battle group in Bulgaria

In 2025, Romania will reinforce with its own troops the NATO battle group in Bulgaria, led by Italy.
This was stated by the Minister of National Defense of Romania, Angel Tilvar, Agerpress reported.
"Romania fully understands these troop deployments as solid evidence of firm commitment in support of the Allied defense and deterrence posture, and in turn in 2025 we will provide troops in support of the Italian-led NATO Battle Group in Bulgaria. All this means solidarity and unity, the main pillars of the principle of collective defense," the minister pointed out.
Tilvar praised Italy's support for strengthening NATO's deterrence and defense posture in the Black Sea region.
"I particularly appreciate Italy's continued contribution to the enhanced airspace security missions in Romania, including taking part also in 2025, as well as the contribution of troops to the multinational brigade hosted by our country," he said.
The minister also emphasized that Romania remains a permanent participant with troops in the NATO mission in Kosovo - KFOR, expressing the conviction that even the Romanian and Italian contingents will cooperate excellently, especially considering that the command of the mission will be assumed by Italy, as of October this year. /BGNES
